Default Improving Acceleration and Launching

I have an 02 GT and will be swapping to 4.10 gears. Aside from sticker and wider tires, are there any other upgrades I should install such as a new LSD or 31 spline axles to help improve traction and launching?

31 spline axles are a great upgrade, but wont improve traction.. they will only help keep the rear from breaking when you do have enough traction. For a simple weekend car I'd get the clutch packs rebuilt, get upper and lower control arms, and a good set of tires.

Sky is the limit if you plan on drag racing the car a ton, but the mods recommended for that type of driving will make it handle and ride like a boat

I'm not adding any power yet so I guess upgrading axles is unnecessary. So just control arms and tires. What exactly do you mean clutch packs?

The LSD utilizes clutch packs to accomplish it's task.

Those are 31 spline clutch packs though. I believe you can just reuse the S spring though?

They say the S Spring is 31 spline so I'll have to reuse my old one :/

somthing I had found in these 8.8 rear ends, finding parts for the 28 is a pain, and the prices are out of control, look for spider gears for a 28....., IMO in the long run,if lanching hard. its cheeper to go with the ford racing 31 cobra lsd, and 31 axels, clutch packs, spider gears, axels, are much less a pain to find, and usaly lower cost.

just a thought.
