So just to get this straight, use 87 or 89, but if i do mods like the exaust, underdrive pulleys, new air induction system, gear blah blah, i should then start to use 91... is that right?</P>

the revving the motor prior to shut down is more of a trick for carbuerators -- don't need to worry with fuel injection

I think what everyone is saying is that if you add a supercharger/nitrousor have a heavily modded motor then use 91 or higher. If you run stock or slightly modded induction with a few bolt ons stay with 87/89. Personally, I'm staying with 87 evenafter I intsalla Cold Air Induction kit and my exhaust and bolt ons.</P>

After the car is paid off (someday)and we totally do a ground up rebuild onthe motor, add SC, and many other goodies....then I will look at high octane<IMG src=smileys/smiley14.gif border="0"></P><edited><editID>Daytomann</editID><editDate>37992.6679166667</editDate></edited>

If you check my mods below. I see no difference between the lowest and highest octane rated fuel. So lately I've just been sticking with the cheepy stuff.

There is no risk for detonation with any of those mods, so stay with the 87.</P>

If it's stock. Just run 87. It's fine it won't hurt anything.

So i filled up 87 today instead of 89 which is what i was filling with. For some reason it feels like it has a little less power and when i turn on the car it doesnt turn on as smoothly. You guys think its just in my head?

yes</P>

OCTANE RATING IS ONLY A MEASURE OF HOW EASY TO BURN THE FUEL IS.IT IN NO WAY EFFECTS PERFORMANCE UNLESS YOU ARE EXPERIENCING DETONATION WITH LOWER-GRADE FUELS</P><edited><editID>Jugador</editID><editDate>37993.7807291667</editDate></edited>
