Default Brake Pads

I'm due for new pads and I figured I would go ahead and get the slotted rotors, mostly for looks since I plan on getting the saleen rims soon. My question is, what are the best brake pads? I put kevlar pads on my wifes exlporer with new rotors and I have not had a problem since, I have been told ceramic is the best, but they eat rotors, is that true? Should I just stick with the Kevlar or are they both just a waste of money.

The slotted rotors will eat through the pads pretty quickly. I made that mistake. If I had it to do over again, I would get just cross drilled.

So slotted is bad news, eh? I was thinking of getting Brembo's 13" cross-drilled slotted for my car...but I'd like both the pads and rotors to last awhile if I am getting good ones...

I bought the EBC slotted and "dimpled" rotors that do not drill the holes all the way through and, therefore, no danger of cracking. They look exactly like the slotted and "drilled" rotors on the car. I also bought the EBC green "snot" type pads (so to speak) that are essentially Kelvar and meant to last a long time. Takes a lot of heat in crash stops without fading also. Virtually no dust whatsoever. Pep Boys stocks EBC parts on the shelf. EBC is a British company I believe and is one of a small few that passes the tough European standards. Hawk also has a very good name in pads. Steeda sells their own brand of pads that they claim makes a big difference in stopping capability over stock. They claim, "You won't believe how much better these pads will stop you."

Just some ideas to get you going. Hope it helps a little. Enjoy your ride!
