Default tranny trouble

This made me realllllly mad, one day while driving to a car show in boston, whenever I would shift into 3rd gear I would get a grind as it would go in. I had to baby it as much as possible to get it to stop grinding. This was all a couple days ago, and since then it has been fine. I dont know what the hell the problem is, its an 03 gt with 12k miles. I've been told it can be a few things, the clutch, bent shifter forks, or the syncros. Has anyone had this problem, or know what the heck is wrong??

I have the exact same problem, I just posted a new post on this EXACT problem!! Does yours still do it? Mine started on the way back from the track, and its REALLY pisses me off. In fact, I have been doing donuts and trying to rip the gears out because I don't give a F anymore...lol. So when did yours finally quit??

Shouldn't be the clutch, I'd look at the forks, change the tranny fluid and look into a shifter - THEN worry about synchro's.

redneck it only did it that one day really bad, butt I'm realizing now that it was causing me problems before, and I had thought it was something else, for a couple months now whenever I would try to bang third gear I'd say 90% of the time it would grind, very annoying deff going to the dealer. anyone know if my pro50 shorty shifter will void the warrantee?? even though it is only helping prevent damage, I dont know how the dealer would take it
