Making the engine and car last and run forever.
I know I've seen this on here somewhere. A guy was talking about oil coolers, and other things that would help make his stang run great and long. could anyone tell me a list of things that would do this or find that thread? I just spent 45 minutes searching for it...
Thanks

Like said, drive it sensibly(like you would drive your grandmother's car) and treat it as such will allow it to last longer. Honestly though, these engines are good engines. They should last 100k + of abuse if you maintain them properly.
If you want to start now w/ some good stuff I would recommend:
1. Get diagnosis of your car as it sits(engine)
A. leakdown test
B. compression test
2. Go to synthetic fluids- This will help you engine stay good for many more miles
A. synthetic oil
B. Synthetic rear diff fluid(I see you are in CO. This is good for the cold weather)
3. Auto tranny could use a tranny cooler. You dont NEED one but, if you will be driving hard, heat will be the no. 1 killer of the tranny. They are fairly cheap too(50ish)

Ditto on changing the fluids, engine oil and filter every 2500 miles, tranny 35k to 40k miles, rear-end every 50k to 60k miles, cooling system flush every 50k miles, brake fluid as needed/each 2-3 years.
Keep the door/hood/trunk hinges lubricated, lubricate the power window mechanisms at least every 2-3 years (pull the door panels).
Avoid powerwashing anything near an exposed seal (front main, tranny extention housing, differential input shaft, even the driveshaft U-joints)--this can drive dirt (abrasive) into the seal and chew it to crap. This is why many cars bought from used car lots start leaking in 2k to 3k miles.
