Worst sounding exhaust. If you add longtubes, it gets better but still is too loud and raspy. It makes you think you did something commendable it claps so much.

Yeah Ive heard a lot of sound clips on youtube and I absolutely love the sound. I only problem for me would be trying to keep it low key at times, since I don't want to track the attention of the police, because I live in California? As long as I'm not punchin it all the time, do you think It will be fine? Or will it still scream lol

Do yourself a favor then, if you are set on LM1's go with either LM2's (lil quieter and have better tone w/ offroad pipes) or since California practically makes you a slave if you get caught with offroad pipes I would throw a catted X or catted H on with the LM1's. /thread.

I have longtubes with an o/r x with lm1, I get compliments on it all the time. Yes if you have a 5 speed you can keep it down.

Hell if I shift at 2k rpms it just sounds like a healthy breathing exhaust, not loud at all. It really is the best of both worlds, loud as what at WOT, and purrs like a kitten at idle...

if you are set on SLPs just get the LM2s and call it a day. there is a local guy that has o/r x and LM1s and its is horrible. obnoxious and toneless.

louder doesn't always mean better IMO.

LM1 sound like pure crap with an o/r h or x sounds better catted but if you go with it and then put a chambered muffler back on the next day you will see that you lose some power down low its very noticable. i notice it with my car runnin wide open exhaust and with my wifes trailblazer ss it will be loud and obnoxious put flows back on both of the vehicles and it pulls alot better and has a tuned sound to it vs noise just pushing its way out the back

Save you money with LM1's...there is nothing inside them and you are buying a shiney muffler delete. At least with the LM2's there are some internal construction maybe worth paying for.

But again here is another exhaust thread...go on youtube and listen to vids. If you like o/r midpipe and a straight through muffler idea, look into Magnapacks (o/r X and magnapacks on my car)

With LM1's you either like them or hate them. Personally I like them but I still have stock H and manifolds. In the end it boils down to what you like/want.
