I was wondering if anyone uses GM synchromesh in their T-45 transmission? What do you guys think of it, do you recommend getting it, and do you know how much fluid I need to change it? Thanks
Same as the auto trans fluid, ford now recommends to put mercon V (5) fluid in the manual trans. The original fluid ford used was a gear fluid, and too thick to get good circulation inside the trans, the thicker fluid would also cause a feeling of tougher shifts especially when cold.
I am using AMSOIL synchromesh in same tranny and 3.5 quarts. I was having minor grind and engagement issues til I used AMSOIL which have since vanished. And it's good forever. Change it the next time the spirit moves you
