DDM Tuning HID Kit
#22
I had a lot of the same concerns you are voicing before I got my kit. I would not worry about the glare. Although my headlights are the dark smoked units from AM, I have absolutely no glare from mine. My fears turned out to be non-issues. Buy a kit and put them in.
The only potential issue I can think of is if you are changing to a higher temp bulb set-up which will scream aftermarket lights. If you stay with 5000K or lower, I think you will be fine.

To those of you that have kits I got mine today and there are no instructions, the page on ddm is just white and I can't get them at the phones.
I have two kits a hi/lo 35watt kit and a 35watt fog light kit.
The hi low kit is pretty easy to figure out except what order the pins go in the blue connector.
The fog light kit has me stumped though.
It just has two silver pins on the ends of the wires by the bulbs.
Is there supposed to be a connector piece like the blue one in the hi/low kit?
What are you supposed to do just jam them into the connector the light bulb connects to?
Hardly seems weather proof for something down that low on a car.
And I got the more expensive slim ballast kits that were $40 for the base kit.

I am NOT a fan of the blue light configuration, so I was hoping the 55w would wash out any blue hue to the light. When you stand in front of the car, the lights don't look blue, but the white street signs light up with a blue tint. I am certain that "I" would not like the 6000K, but they may be exactly right for you. I was just mentioning the temp/color because if the color is blue, it will scream aftermarket lights. If you wanted to reduce any potential hassle over the lights, the more stock in color they are the better.
GOOD LUCK with whatever you decide to go with!!!

my buddy just got the 55w and there soo ridiculously bright. no need for hi beams with the 55w. and if u do go with the 55w make sure you chose one K over what you want. as an example you want the color of 6000k with 55w you need to get 8000k to get the same color as 6000k

If you haven't ordered, I'd recommend taking a look at xentec hid's, they are fairly decently priced and between my bike(high/low), the bucket(fogs), and gf's(2 low beam, 2 high beam) car there are 8 xentec slim ballasts and they have had 0 issues.
