I can see what youre saying Jazzer, but I had decent pads with my GT front brakes and now I have cobra brakes. Worlds of difference! Rear brake upgrade wont be noticed due to the cobra brakes using the same caliper as the GT. Just better cooling like you said. But the front brakes have a much better caliper and more rotor space. I instantly noticed a difference from GT to Cobra. My car stops so fast that I made myself dizzy and almost blackout. I'm not even kidding. If I had decent tires up front, I'd probably nail my head on the steering wheel because even though I was ready, those things threw me.

Oh, and they were good enough to get me 5th place at the auto-x at myrtle beach

The difference between descent pads and the ones you have now are 90% of the difference. The fluid and SS lines make up another 5%, I am willing to bet. Think about it, the pads are very nearly the same size, if not exactly and either caliper is capable of locking up the wheel. Most of the difference you notice is less pedal pressure to achieve the same rate of deceleration.

The Cobra caliper is probably a bit stronger, so a little less flex there, but the only other difference is additional surface in which to cool and some mechanical advantage due to rotational speed of a 13" rotor over that of the GT one at... 11.5"? Better material of rotor may come into play, but again is an issue of addressing heat.

Cobra brakes are fine, but not the difference that pepes think.

Well I gotta say, going from good pads on my GT brakes to the original pads I had in the cobra brakes(probably auto zone special honestly), I noticed enough of a difference that I would have paid for the swap if I hadn't gotten them for free.

Also, shedding speed from 140 down to the speed limit is a lot smoother and less warpage of brakes. Just saying from experience

I feel its worth it to go to the cobra calipers and rotors for the bigger size, (mechanical advantage and better cooling). I will go full tilt on them. SS lines, better fluid, high end pads. I just dont know whats better, power slot? (not drilled) or Factory Cobra rotors, I would like the look of the slotted rotors. I will never buy a LPS rotor again.
