It works both ways. Back when I was in High school some years ago, My vette was in the shop and my dad let me use his Mint 67 Thunderbird, 39,000 miles on it. As Im leaving school, kid behind me thought I went at a stop sign, he punched the throttle to try and go with me...I didnt go, My bumper ended up halfway up his hood. 3500 in damage to the car, problem was the rear light parts are about some of the rarest parts out there, never could find new ones or suitable used ones...ended up selling the car.

I was expecting the bumper to be hanging off or something ridiculous.
lol I was expecting the 1/4 panel to at least be pushed in, nada, just some scrapes.

I'm gonna have to beg to differ with you there. I see the side of the stnag got hit. What part of the Ridgeline was damaged? If it's the back bumper then she's at fault.

Ironically enough, just 2 days ago this EXACT same thing happened to me. Took the kiddies to McD's for lunch in my Lincoln Towncar, go to leave, get the kiddies in their car seats, backing out, and an older lady in a Fusion backs right into my L.R. 1/4 panel (Behind the tire). moved it in about 8-10".
Technically she's at fault because she was backing and used the rear of her car to hit the side of my car.

In your situation, it should be the same thing. Especially since she hit the wheel. To me that indicates that your dad was well out of his parking spot before she nailed em in the blind spot ridden "truck".

Yeah, it doesn't look as bad as I thought. But still, what gouged the wheel? That's strange. I just wonder if the WHOLE bumper shifted a little, not just the area it was hit. I'm sad and happy for you at the same time.

Im guessing trailer hitch got the wheel.

That does make sense though, how could my bad share fault when he had side damage...interesting. too late now, but that is some very good info to have in my back pocket now.

If you got their insurance info, you file on their insurance and let the ins. company do the investigation. They'll interview, take pics, etc, and make a decision. As said, based on descriptions, THEIR insurance will pay. You pay nothing.

I got hit in a parking lot once.... I wasn't even in my car.

It's a sick feeling when your coworker comes in and tells you she hit your car...

Good luck, get Cobra bumper.
