Default Question about 8.8 axles

Hi Mfers.

I have a question I hope someone could fill me in on some answers

As you know by sig I have a 97 Cobra and a 99 GT.
The GT has 4:10 gearing and the Cobra has what im guessing to be 3:27

My question is can these rear axle be swapped? putting my 99 axle in my Cobra and putting my 97 Cobra axle in GT.

What i have read on this swap is the cobra axle is a bit shorter(3\4 of a inch on both side) to me that not really a issue that spacers cant fix.

Question is the ABS rings on the 99 axle. 97 doesnt have ABS.

reason I want to do this is my 99 GT is my DD and wouldnt mind stock gearing in this car. Cobra is going to be my track and show car and I hear 4v love 4:10 or higher.

I hope someone can fill me in with some tech info on this swap
Will really be alot easier then putting 4:10 in Cobra when I wouldnt mind having my GT have stock gears. And just swap axles

Thank You Repzard

The axles will work but the 99-04 are slightly longer, abs rings dont matter theyll be on the axle but you don't have ABS so u dont have to worry about anything. And the length difference is the axles themselves not the actual housing I beleive
