Default Engine Failsafe/TPS Ford TSB

Well i keep getting the Engine Failsafe sporadically on my 2005 Mustang GT 5 Speed, not always but usually it will throw the codes P2106 and P2135 no matter how many times i clear them.

anyways i found the ford TSB on it and took it to the dealer the car is a 2005 with 44,267km on it and they don't want to warranty it because its out of the 3 year/60,000km warranty.

they want $354 for the whole job which includes replacing TPS and recalibrating the PCM module on the car

my question is anything i can do to try and get this covered?
do i really NEED the PCM recalibration?
could i just buy a TPS Jobber for $93 and replace myself with no PCM calibration?

just wondering what other people have done in this situation

here's the TSB

Thanks in advance.

I would definitley fight it since there's a TSB for the problem making it a design flaw acknowledged by Ford. Call Ford's HQ and see if you can get any fire power before engaging the dealership again.

well i called ford..fought with them on the phone for 30 minutes or so with no luck..they just keep saying its out of warranty there is nothing they can do blah blah

i think its pretty weak on fords behalf that they acknowledge an issue and will not support it

i guess ill have to front the bill

Thanks.

I got the extended deal and am glad for it. I would have never bought the first or second year model without it. Made that mistake before, but if it is only $450 and that is all that goes wrong you are ahead of the curve. Just it is a pain in the neck or a up front cost. Good luck.

yeah i purchased the car privatley a week ago so never had the choice of extended...i really hope i dont run into more of these problems...i drive my vehicles harder then the average person but i dont think that i am stupid with them...and its how a mustang was meant to perform in my eyes!

anyone else ever get this fixed even off warranty?

Thanks.
