My 06 GT had a check engine light, and threw a cam sensor code multiple times. I found multiple posts about the alternator fixing it. I pulled my Alternator and had it rebuilt at a local rebuilder for about $100. I cleared the cam sensor fault code and it never came back.

Mine did the same thing, except I went with the PA alt. this was about 15k ago been no problem since. This is a common problem.

The PA Alts run about 300 plus don't they? IF I did get one of those, would it be ok although my car didn't come with that kind of alt? I don't want to change the kind it cause some other problem. But I wanted a PA alt because I have a big system in my car.

I got mine from American Muscle, its an after market replacement so it fits like the old one. it's better built and more amps. Give American Muscle a call with any questions there knowlegible and helpful. Don't remember what I paid.
