Interesting intermittent issue I had
About three weeks ago I started having an issue when I would go WOT my car would lose power. It only happened under WOT. If I got off the throttle, it would go back to driving normal, sometimes the issue would reappear immediately and sometimes it wouldn't. I got to thinking about it and remembered I was way overdue for a new filter. Got a new filter and put it in and the issue was almost gone. It still happened one more time after the fuel filter change and so I was still concerned. I was thinking fuel pump issue, throttle body maybe, but wasn't sure. Fuel pumps usually do not work intermittently unless it is a wiring issue and my throttle body is from KB. My car runs really clean and I only use good premium fuel. So I kept thinking and I recalled filling up at another gas station I normally never fill up at. So I went home and hooked up my handy tool I have to drain fuel and pumped the remaining gas out. Went to the station and got 6 gallons from chevron and after a few spirited test drives, all is well so far. Surprisingly so, the car feels like it picked up a bunch more power. Next fill up will include an additive to clean everything else up.
I got bad fuel one other time and the symptoms were similar. I guess the old fuel filter (dated 2007, I know shame on me) and bad gas just made the right combo to make the car run like crap.
I did pull the throttle body off and cleaned it. I was surprised how clean it was.
Next thing is spark plugs and an oil change.

I know the feeling... Mine is starting to do the same thing. It runs like crap at WOT. I need to change my fuel filter, clean my CAI filter, clean MAF, and TB. I am also needing to give it a tune up. New wires, plugs, etc. I am hoping this will cure my woes... Just did the clutch 3 months ago. I am debating new gears as the 3.31's suck ***** on the bottom end and it feels gutless.

There is a TSB on the fuel pumps for the 05-06 GT's. Air bubble develops under cruising at steady speed. The next time you crack the throttle it cycles that bubble and you lose fuel pressure for a half second.

My wife's '06 V6 had the fuel pump issue. I had the dealer replace the fuel pump after showing him the TSB (1 week left on her warranty) and that took care of it.

Still running like normal. Seems like fresh fuel and filter did the trick.
