07 GT, 5 speed Hurst short throw, 410 gears
Hello everyone, I hope this is the proper forum for this question. I've been driving manual trans cars for over 30 years and always thought I was good at it until now. I thought with the short throw shifter and 410 gears I'd be banging through the gears but it's not happening. I don't know if it's the hydrolic clutch or what but it seems I have to have the clutch to the floor to shift. This isn't a problem during normal driving but if I'm trying to get on it is just embarrassing. Having trouble running through the gears when under power. Is it getting to know this clutch, operator error or common problem? Thanks Z

No, that's not normal. I only have to push my clutch pedal about 1/2 way to shift. If you bought the car used take it to someone you trust to have the clutch checked. Might be a bad hydraulic throwout bearing or it might just need to be bled. Are the brakes spongy too?

Automatic shifting
My 06 GT with auto trans shifts a little wired sometimes. Kind of like it goes into neutral between shifts or stays in the lower gear too long before shifting up. Had it to the dealership and $800.00 later it still does the same thing. Any ideas?

I think my transmission in my 08 auto GT took a dump on me. I was on my way to work while driving on the free way when I heard a loud pop and my engine began over revving. I pulled over and put my car in park and back into drive. I had no power at all going to the wheels, just continuous over revving. I tried putting the car in reverse and through first, second and third gear. I fear I might be looking at a transmission rebuild in the future, how much would that generally cost?
