Angry Damn cars sometimes

I haven't started a thread in a little while, so I thought I would let you guys know what I'm doing lately.

I've been working on my sisters 1998 ford escort ZX2 that she got for her first car. I've replaced the shift sensor on her transmission, done a brake inspection, checked struts, etc... Looks like the car was totaled twice, or at least once, but we got a hell of a deal on it. Anyways, car runs nice and everything, even has more balls then my MX6 but anyways, inspected everything on it, replaced the sensor, changed the oil, transmission fluid, and battery. Anyways I'm working on a wiring issue with it right now; CD player is draining the battery so I've got to trace it down, and it's looking like the 6disk changer or the head unit is draining the system... Might just take the 6 disk and head unit out and replace it with an aftermarket unit.

Now onto the MX6. Nothing majorly going wrong with it other than my heater fan going out, and the heater switch going out also. Have to rip half the dash out to fix it all outside while -35*C but I got all of that fixed, but now my engine has fried the spark plugs that have less than 50,000km's on them... good thing I keep my old plugs and wires

Now for the stang she has been getting worked on for the gauges. They are almost done, just have to get connected (all wires run) and mounted (screw them in) then its onto the engine bay/transmission. I still have to take the transmission out and fix my leak as well as lift the transmission higher. It's sitting to low for my liking. Then fix the motor mounts, oil feed and the return and I'm good to go for summer

So as you can see, I've been a little busy lately Doing all this, work, school, running 2 businesses, and helping on here, turboford, and on mx6.

So what have you all been up to

Not much here, looking for a job since my work closed. Saving up money for my Summer trip to Spain and France. Then saving up for a car after that. The way I figure it, it would cost me way more to buildup this car than just buy one.

No rest for those who like to work. Finally got the 89 2.3t running. Doing better at 10 psi that I was doing at 18. Last couple of weekends helping local person changing a a4ld in a 88 turbocoupe to a t-5. Then will start modifing it. He and his dad both have turbo v-6 Mustangs. Weather starting to warm up. Time for the MGB or the SHO project depending on bodyshop man. Want both running by winter.

Sleeper, does this mean you are not selling your stang anymore?

As you guys know, and thanks to your help, I am getting a tubro engine. (Picking it up tomorrow) I'll be working on that from time to time. In the mean time, I am going to put in a roller cam and a Ranger header, and install some sub-frame connectors. Figured that would be a good start for now.

I know somewhat how you feel, I had a pretty bad run a few weeks ago when the SVslow wouldn't run. It jumped timing once, then after I got it running again, the day after ECT sensor went out on it. It's running pretty good right now though, well except for a slipping clutch and a cracked exhaust manifold. Oh well, I should have the '65 back together within the next couple of weeks and then I can start focusing on the SVO. Besides that, not too much has been going on, just school, labs, ER shifts, and trying to decide what I'm gonna do this summer.

Hey!

Well Friday i had my white duck-taped convertible top replaced with a nice black one! (need to update my thread). Apart from that, i bought all the parts needed for a good tune up and after saving up some more money, ill be having the last of my minor body work done in May.

I still have some OEM black interior peices to install and while ill be completing that, im debating wether or not to install a Amp and a Sub.

Once the body work is done, ill do a few things to the engine for some extra HP and thats it till i find a 302 or a 4 banger Turbo Engine to rebuild ready for next summer.

The Stang will be a summer car only so ill be looking for a winter beater or a decent truck as a daily driver.

well i have been working on the svo i got for $1500. so cheap because it needed to be re-ringed. took out the engine and have a set of .030 over SRP racing pistons going in it. got a new hatch because the one that was on it was beginning to rust around the rear window molding. i ported the heads, lower intake, and exhaust manifold. im gonna buy a 120 degree rotated intake from 40bob and i actually got a free 95 5.0 65mm throttle body from a guy on craigslist going to get a front mount intercooler kit from stinger. i havent decided what blow off valve to get but more than likely an hks, i have been looking for a good camshaft but all the affordable ones from crane are discontinued since they went outta business so im probably gonna get a ford racing one i have been recommended. i have a set of chrome fr500 rims on it. 275 in the front and 315 in the rear. gonna get the t5 rebuilt with a zoom clutch and a short throw shifter. when its all together and running im gonna get new konis all the way around with new rotors and a paint job and throw in a 8.8 rearend with 3.73 gears. and then im gonna buy a holset hx35 and hopefully hit 400hp. well thats it with me. its alot easier to type it then actually do it. lol
