Transmission Swap Help
Hey,
I have a 1991 Foxbody Mustang LX 2.3L with an automatic transmission. It's starting to slip every once in a while, and before it goes completely, I wanted to replace it with a manual.
I've found this and this for information on how to actually do the swap.
What I need to know is where can I get a transmission? I don't want to buy a new one, and I'm not certain whether I can actually find a Mustang at a junkyard to steal one off of. I know with some other things, Rangers are similar, so could I use a Ranger transmission? Or is there another car I could use?
Also, I used to own an '89 BMW 325i that had a racing clutch in it. I wondered if it would be possible or wise to try to put a racing clutch on my Mustang, and if so, if it would be very expensive.
