and it might also sound stupid... but check ur tranny fluid... if u have no fluid, then there is no way to build pressure to allow gear changes to take place

Might something like Lucas Tranny fix help? And what are the chances they merely forgot to put the pin back in, and that's what's causing this?

Yeah, the pin would also cause this

Well.. I took a look today, and it had a pin in it. However, I did notice that it was an adjustable modulator, so I screwed the adjustment screw out as far as it would go without being pulled out. Now it shifts a little lower, but still way, way too high.

Is there any way that I can adjust the shift points even lower? Perhaps a different sized pin in the modulator?

You have an air leak some where. With the adjustment all the way in you should be shiffting as 1700Rpms (roughly)

under light throttle mine was shifting around 2200-2400 rpms

1700 seems a little low, but maybe the 87-90's had a different tune for the tranny... idk

Thats with the adjuster all the way in. I can get the turbo to shift at 1500 RPM[&:]

why would u want it to shift so lowly for? you wouldn't even be in your torque band.. sounds like it would wear the torque converter out... it would have to be slipping its *** off to keep the car moving... and not stalling
