Default performance for my 5.0

I am wondering what is the best cam and upper/lower intake combination i can put in my 5.0. Right now it has mac long tube headers, no cats, and underdrive pullies.

thanks, matt

I like the E-cam the best. And I hear great things about the Edelbrock intake.

yeah i would go with either the holley system max II intake or edelbrock, both are amazing performance wise, (look at the new edition of Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords, they have a whole article on intakes) and for heads, edelbrock and Brodix are high contenders. cam wise i am totally clueless, but have heard good things about comp cams and lunati.

I have a lunati with a gt-40 lower and explorer upper. I LOVE it! I also have head work done to my stock heads. I will be putting on a set of windsor SR.s that have been ported within the next couple of months. That should really help my intake/cam/head combo.

The key thing to look for is where they make power. You dont want to buy a race head that only makes high rpm power, then an intake that makes midrange power and a lowend power cam. Nothing will work right and you WILL be dissapointed. That is why the holley and edelbrock systems work so well. They are designed to go hand in hand.

I don't think i want to do heads, but defenitly get them re machined ect. I might change my mind tho...I def. want a cam with upper/lower/intakes, and 3:55 or 3:73 gears. thanks everyone for ur help.

For the money you will spend getting machine work done on the heads, save it and buy some good heads. You will be much happier.
