I am running castrol 20w-50 + half a quart of Lucas oil stabilizer and was wondering if this oil combo is too thick for cold starts? I live in Hawaii and it is hot most of the time so i figured it would be all right. Tell me what you think. I usually run valvoline 10-40

and why you runnign anything different hten stock specs on the oil. you dont get that much out of it by switchin to a thicker oil. only if yoru hiding motor issues

To prolong the life of the motor due to hot weather and hard driving, im not hiding any problems, just preventing some wear.

i would say the thicker oil is not a bad idea, but if the waerther in HA get below 60F i would go with somthing thinner, and most of engine waer is caused during start up.
