Well my FLOWMASTER 40 series showed up today and ill be adding them on tommorow.

My question for you guys is how will these sound do you think?

I have them on my S.H.O and they are loud but how do you think theyll sound on my 331?Im honestly not a muffler guy but i figure i dont need another loud pipes ticket so ill muffle it a bit.How much will these things change the sound and for the good or bad?

Im looking for a mellow rumbly bass filled exhaust tone will these do it?

As i said on my S.H.O i have these and theyre very impressive but every car is different so what do you guys think?

Opinions please good or bad if you have used them or heard them.

By the way these will be on 3 inch pipe no cats and turn downs at the rear axle you think ill still be loud?

Feel free to explain in great detail im very curious as to how these will sound?

they do sound great , But they seem to need a little of your own bending! not really a direct fit but close. i had them on an 89

Im running open headers and no cats or mufflers how will the sound differ?

I feel dumb as hell knowing all i know about cars and not knowing about mufflers.LOL

Im just not a fan of mufflers but in this case i have no choice.Its just too loud and raspy.I need a mellow low bass filled rumble.I hope these do it.

open headers Killer???? geeezzz... I did that on my car and I about drove myself insane lol.. Id have people flip me off and roll there windows up lmao......

Those Flows are going to sound awesome... Its going to have a nice rumble to it.. itll take out that raspy sound you have now.... Itll be smooth and kinda medium pitched when you take off.....

I love the open header sound its just when you let off it gets raspy and sounds like **** to me.The poping and crackle dont bother me much but officer BARNEY FIFE might not like it too much.lol

Just remember that when you add them to decide if you want ridiculous levels of resonance in your car or not. Because turn downs will rattle your brain. I happen to like it but that's me. If you don't want all of the passenger compartment resonance.....turn your turn downs at a 45 degree angle from the floor plan instead of at a 90. Helps a bit.

I love that sound inside the car.

I already have 45 degree turn downs.

I cant wait to install these now.Im curious as to how it will sound.

hehehe...I'm glad I found another person that likes the sound. My girlfriend hates it.
She says it sounds better OUT of the car.....and I always just smile and cruise at about 45 or 50 to hear it rumble and see the look on her face turn sour.

how long did you run on the street with open headers before the man finally caught up with you? I run mine open at the track but I can't believe you were running them open on the street! don't you have any neighbors or do you really live that far out in the boonies that nobody cares how noisy you are? lol
I do love the sound of open headers! I started my car up at the track several weeks ago just as two young honeys were cutting through my pit space and I waited until they were just past the car when I hit the starter. Bet you at least one of them wet her panties as they both jumped about a foot up off the ground when it fired off. Boy was that fun!!!![sm=smiley15.gif]
