Rev Limiter Question?

Rev Limiter Question?
I have an MSD 6AL ignition box and was wondering if no pill is in the box will the factory 6250 rpm rev limiter still be there. I just put the 6200 rpm pill in and never worried about it. But I just switched to 4.30 gears and when I took it to the track last friday I was hitting the limiter at about 1200 ft. mark.
Also, whats the deal with the richmond rear end gears that make winning noises? does any other brand do this?

RE: Rev Limiter Question?
the stock rev limiter would still be in place.
if the gears whine, it means they were installed wrong. i ran some no name gears in my ranger for years and they never made a noise so i doubt the noise is from bad gears

RE: Rev Limiter Question?
im gonna have to go with lucky on this one,
gears shouldnt whine unless is was a garbage install.
theres some seals and bearings that can make your rear engd whine, but i doubt its the gears.

RE: Rev Limiter Question?
I got 15x10 pro-stars with 6.5" backspacing. 28x10.5" full slicks or 28x12.5 ET streets are the biggest you can run. I run MT ET 28x10.5 slicks and they rub when i launch it.
