I had a 430 HP 302. No power adders.
Cost somewhat more than $6500 when it was built about 7-8 years ago. This also was NOT a street engine. Race only.
Didn't really last that either.
I really don't see how you are going to get your 400HP without some sort of a supercharger........

Car craft did one about 3years ago. Stock roller block with aluminum heads and carberated. Im picking up a block next weekend to shoot for it myself. Comp makes a set of dressed aluminum heads that can be found on ebay for around 500 bucks. And the right cam can be found there too.
