loud thump

WhenI shift or just hit the gas the rearend makes a loud thumpand itfeels like the rear end shifts do you have any clue what the prob could be ?

Is it definetely coming from your rear end? It sounds like it could possibly be u-joints on the driveshaft. It could be your rear end to. How many miles are on the car and do you hear any other noises coming from the rear end.
