I have a stormin norman 2 1/2 inch hood and carb setup. I have a torker manifold its about a inch taller then a performer and a 2 inch air cleaner and have about two inches clearance between the hood and air cleaner. I would think with a 351 you'd be a little closer, might only have a inch clearance but would probably clear.

I am sorry, why would you want to change to a carb if you already have FI? But to answer your question, I think you would need a cowl hood, the carb may sit below the hood, but by the time you install the air intake and filter, you will be too high. I have a 90 also, and I happen to know that you can place an oil filler cap on top of the intake, and it will not move because the clearance is so close. Dont ask me how I know this!
Carb = faster less efficent gas delivery = more power quicker & less gas efficency...

Anyone swapping in a 351 isnt too worryed about getting 20mpg[sm=badbadbad.gif]
