Default Steering Shaft Slop...

Okay so today I narrowed the slop in my steering wheel to the point where i know its comming from above the rack... I a pair of channel locks on the lowest part of the steering rack and had somone else wiggle the wheel... The play in the wheel still occours (about 1-2cm of dead slop) before the lower part of the shaft starts to move...

Is this the rag joint that is bad? the part between the lower and upper shaft, can that be replaced without buying a brand new steering shaft?

yes old/bad rag joints will give u sloppy steering

get a new shaft with the better design (eliminates the rag joint)

Im sorry but i think 250 bucks for a better steering shaft is outrageous, i would rather get a set of springs/injectors... Hell even a alarm system before ill spend 250 bucks to fix a bit of play inthe steering wheel

an alarm system will not give you firm and crisp steering

I picked up the Maximum Motorsports Steering Shaft, its a pretty kickass design, I'd choose that even over Flaming River. IMHO
