Compression Ratio

Compression Ratio
As some of you may know my car is a 331 stroker with 8:5:1 compression and is built to have a blower on the motor at some time..(All forged internals, blower cam, etc...) Now on all motor i ran a best 12.70@109 mph on drag radials. Now i was talking to a mechanic about compression ratios, and i had the impression if i swaped my pistons over to say like a 10:1 compression ratio i would be alot faster. He on the other hand thinks it would only add 15-20 hp. What do you guys think?

RE: Compression Ratio
Id just leave it at 8.5:1 and boost the hell out of it, ofcourse you will need an aftermarket block if you want to run any real numbers of boost...
If you did run 10:1 id get a methanol kit, and still boost it, 10# of procharger boost+meth kit should still be doable, ofcourse with a good block to keep everything together. if your using the stock 5.0 block, you will most likely be picking your pistons off the ground soon after the first time you really run the car.
