Distributor Confusion
Hey guys, I'm going to be running a 351W this year, The motors going to be going together in about a month. But I'm a bit confused as to what Distributor I need to purchase. Well actually thats inacurate, I know I want to use a stock ford Distributor. But it needs to work with my MSD 6A Box, and MSD blaster coil. Keep In mind that the 351 Is staying Carbed.
So out of what year van/truck will I need to find a distributor?
I'm assuming a Duraspark style will be necessary.
Thanks for the replys

RE: Distributor Confusion
without having the exact years in front of me i believe its mid 70's to mid 80's for the duraspark. (should have two or three wires coming out the dizzy) and then mid 80's and up will have the TFI where the module is right on the dizzy. those will work with your msd box too btw, msd even sells the plug adapter.
pay attention to the cam gear on the dizzy though, pretty sure there are different ones for the roller cams or flat tappet cams. the wrong gear will get chewed up quickly
*edit* heres a TFI unit but i have heard the TFI's like to burn up all the time, may ways to go for a older duraspark unit
