My husband purchased a '93 GT last June for about $4k. The registration says GT/COB 2S I thought it was just a typo.

We did a CarFax on it this morning and it also says GT/Cobra GT with 5.0 L V8 SFI. What is SFI? We have a mustang catalog and tried to decode the vehicle id number

We are pretty sure it's a GT, but what do the rest of the numbers represent? I suppose in 1993 GT and Cobras were lumped together in the registration process here in GA.

According to the reseach that this guy did it would be a 1993 Mustang GT.
He says the engine type letter should be 'D' if it was a cobra

the car was originally sold in canada....ran into this same thing the gt's slod in canada were sold as mustang gt/ cobra gt the car is just like all the rest of the gt's...sorry
