Ok so im most likely going to get that convertible mustang ( 89, lx, 5.0 ) would a convertible affect its performance much, i saw the specs for an LX stang is 6.5 and 14.9 for the quarter mile, would a convertible slow it down a lot, also what mods should i do for under 500 bucks, starting that is.....

It would slow it down, yes.

It weighs more and the chassis will flex much much easier than with a hard top.

i dunno bout the times , the car is old by now , there usually modded , or have different tires suspension . no one pays attention to stock numbers , because you will likely be doin some work to it , or done already. subframes will cure most of the rigity (depending from who) and maybe a k brace. like i said its just general there a lil heavier . i have no clue if thoses are true stock numbers. if you like a drop top get it . its not a huge difference , unless you where to go drag race it regularly .
