Default Paint Flaws in New 2016 GT

My long awaited 2016 GT Convertible just arrived! I went to pick the car up and found numerous metals shavings/or dirt baked into the door jamb, this dirt is so apparent it scratches on finger nails.

The Ford dealer downplayed the issue and insisted I take the car and fix it later. I am getting an unbeatable deal on this car and the dealer is not wanting to order another and I do not want to wait forever for another car anyway, the odds are most of the current incentives (special offer, lease conquest and customer cash will be gone) after waiting months more.

Ford wants to repaint part of the car. What would you do? Take the car with a partial new paint job? leave the deal? This really sucks. Ford still has big quality issues, how can I see this with my naked eye and Ford cannot?

have them fix it before you take delivery, they want to sell u the car and get your money as bad as u want the car, plus the dealer is not on the hook for the cost, it will be run through under warranty. assuming you are not being overly picky( dont bite my head off, have seen it before) good luck

I would get it fixed before taking it.

Sad to see such poor quality.

I agree. Get them to re-paint it then accept delivery ONLY if the paint job is up to snuff.

I had the same issue with my 15 GT. I pointed it out to the sales manager and he said we could schedule for them to have a body shop repaint the effected areas. Holman Ford repainted the car two days after I took delivery. No issues.
