When I'm hanging on for dear life, the steering wheel has about a 1/4" worth of wobble to either side. Before I start chopping things up, I wanted to see if anyone else has had a similar issue. Lemme know. And could you folks also recommend a nice replacement whell for an '87 gt? Thanks.

EDIT: actually, I just found this: https://mustangforums.com/m_2809749/tm.htm. So, I'll give that a shot and see what happens.

Check the mounts under the dash where the column mounts. Should be 2 bolts under there on the framework of the dash. If they are loose the column will move around some.

Do you have tilt wheel ? If so they start getting a little play in them over time. Only fix I know of is change to a non-tilt column or find a replacement column. I have a 87 non-tilt column if your interested out of my car when I put in a tilt column (andit wobbles just a little). Mine doesn't have the cruise control stuff though.
