Default just a quick ?

anyone change out a radio out of a 89 mustang with out buying a wiring harness if so whats the catch i cant figure it out .prob need to go get the harness huh.

The harnesses are less than $10... Most Walmart's stock them... Just buy one and do it right.

Ahh... I see your problem... Let me dig in to my big bag of tricks...

edit: For some reason, my car would only work through the factory amp connector (there is no factory amp in the car), so here is the wire diagram for that connector:

RR+ Yellow w/Black Stripe
RR- Orange
RF+ Gray
RF- White w/Black Stripe
LF+ Purple
LF - Brown & White (dunno which is the stripe color anymore)
LR+ Blue w/Black Stripe
LR- Green w/Orange Stripe

You should be able to find the switched and constant power and ground pretty easily with a $1.99 test light. I don't remember if the car had an illumination wire or not. As low as the radio sits in the dash I really didn't care.
