Dome Light Won't Go Off!!
I've just completed an engine swap w/ a Remanufactured 302, added a Mallory magnetic pickup distributor, new plugs/plug wires, etc. Everything's in and is fine, but when I went to start it for the first time, I opened the driver door, the dome light came on like it should, and when I closed the door the dome light stays on. Now I can't get the dome light to go off at all. When a door is opened, or I turn the switch for the dome light, it gets a little bit brighter, and dims down a little with I close the door/turn off the dome light switch, so I assume the switches are working correctly.
I was thinking it was a bad ground somewhere, and after cleaning connectors and regrounding a bunch of misc. wires, the dome light still won't go off. Sound like a ground problem? Blown switch? I can't figure this out!
Side question:
When I hooked up my Mallory dist. it fried my tach. For now, I got a SunPro tach in it, but I would really like to get my tach working again. Do I just need to buy a new in-dash tach from Ford, and if so, would you assume it'd blow again when I hooked it back up to my distributor?
Thanks in advance.
