Default Wheel bearing won't fit

I went to replace my wheel bearings today, one of the outers would not go on, The spindle looked fine. Is there anything I could do to get it to work without messing up the spindle. It was just to tight. I had to use the old bearing, which was not too bad and I did regrease it.

Well, if the old one fits, and the new one doesn't, it seems pretty simple what the problem is.

Well, I got the A-5 bearing it called for, made by mogul federated. Like I said one side fit fine, a bit tight going on. Does anyone have any part numbers if there is a different bearing, or different rotor, or a different year model of car for me to look the part numbers up?I think the spindle on the driver side may have been replaced.

Have compared the old and the new bearing to see if there is any physical difference?

I looked, The old one was a timken, the new one was a mogul, they looked the same, the inside diameter was a few thousandths smaller on the new one. That seems to be the only physical difference that I could see. I mic'd the old one and new one also. just a few thousandths difference. Other than that, same looking bearings and the spindle looked fine, no cuts, not extra metal on the spindle either. Weird.

A few thousandths of an inch doesn't sound like much but this is a machine fit where just a lil bit makes a big difference. That is the problem. The new bearing is a tad too small on the inner race diameter. Did you buy bearings for both sides and there is only a problem w/ the one side?

That is exactly what I did, Bought both inners and outers for both side, the drivers side did go on tight, no problem, but the passenger side just would not go, I even exchaged the bearing for a different one and it did not go on either.
