Default OMG Stang Down...Need Advice!!

So i guessi can say it all went "down hill"when the clutch cable broke.. & so after "fixing" that with a new adjustable cable and quadrant.i had a really hard time trying to adjust the cable so it would shift smooth..i got it working pretty good, but the clutch pedal was sooo stiff(ittookALOT of effort to get the pedal to the floor)...but then about two days later i got locked out of every gear (while driving) it wouldnt shift..

After that i had it towed to get it looked at/fixed... and they tell me that the body/frame are in horrid shape(rust + floorpans )..and also that id need to replace the rear differential..(as its leaking) andpossibly new clutch...
Is it time to move on and sell/part out??..or restore??

Either way thiswas my DD...and really cripples me..

should i take this as a sign to move to bigger and better thinggs??
Damnn is it suppose to hurtt soo mucch...my mind doesnt want to beleive it...
UUGHHhhhh

sounds like a leaky diff gasket.. not a had or expensive fix

what brand cable/quadrant? you may need a clutch/annother new cable or just and adjustment

and having rusty floorpans isnt going to effect that

have n e pics of the car/rust?

time to let it go to the junkyard

sometimes you just have to suck it up and buy something newer

Haha, I don't see how a leaking dif is gonna lock you out of all gears. I'm with mattdel on this one. The trans should be able to shift regaurdless of dif. shape. Sounds to me like you don't have the clutch adjusted correctly. If you tighten the clutch cable, what happens then? Were you having clutch problems anyway. P.s. the clutch is gravey to fix. You should be able to do that in a few hours with a floor jack and basic hand tools. As far as the body goes, who cares if its rusted. That should have 0 effect on the operating condition of the transmission. Get a second opinion
