tech ADVICE please, vortec with my 5.0
i have been dying to get this
http://mustangsunlimited.com/itemdy0...p;CatKey=74-01
i have thought long and hard about it for months. my car has 140,000 on it, however, it was re-done to a 306 before i bought it. i have no way of finding out how long ago it had been done. when i did my HCI, the cylenders still had the hone marks on the walls. its a 5 psi kit, the car now takes a 75 shot of gas well with no problems. my tranny is stock and seems to be in great condition.
my mods are in my sig. i just wanted any tech advice about problems anyone has had while doing something similar. the car is a daily driver, is this going to be too much for the car to handle for a while??

I have an older version of that blower on my car. I dont think youll have any problem running 5psi on top of what you have but i dont know about a 75 shot on top of that. I dont know how many miles your looking for the motor to last.I know samseed runs a 100 shot on top of his supercharger

samseed was pushin me to get it! haha. it would be hard not to but i would not use the 75 with the blower. im just worried about the crank more than the block.

Stop being a wuss!
10 PSI plus a 100 wet-shot and I'm still running strong. I know I only have 83k on the engine, but these things can take a beating anyway.
If you get a good tune, then you will have no problems. Hell, you should be able to split your block in half before you blow your crank... as long as the tune is good.
Anyway, if you run the 5 PSI and put on a 50-shot, I'm sure you'll be happy with the extra power. And you'll be well within the safe limits.

i have a built top end and a 100 shot and im about ready to buy a 10psi 3 core innercooler P1SC... granted i only have 45k on my 95 cobra but still thats a ton of power... and yes i know my sig says 242 N/A its up to 270ish now... worked out hte bugs just havent got it re-run and im running a blower cam without a blower so 10psi innercooled without the 100shot could get me 450rwhp so im looking at 550rwhp ish with im hopin 650rwhp... im also getting a tweecer so i dont have to screw with tuners in more... and ill just get the dyno numbers at school for 20 bucks for 2 runs with no tune just the sheets.. hell there is a guy on there that was push over 700rwhp on a stock block for a while.... 2 years is what i heard but i dont think he was at 700rwhp the whole 2 years.... anywayz the point is the 5.0 is a tough enough... ever heard "built FORD tough"... they arent wasting there breath... its all in the tune and you driving style... if u have a ****ty tune and abuse the hell outta the car id give u a few months... if you tune good and treat the car good who knows how long it will go
