So the last few times i used the car i noticed the temp guage slowly rises as the car warms up, thing is, it eventually gets to the top so i shut off the car for no more than 2-4 seconds and the guage goes back to operating temp. the engine has not changed the way it runs so i dont think it overheated. it seems like a guage or sensor is going bad. has anyone had this problem before?

Did you check your coolant level?
When was the last time you changed the thermostat?
Remember the spring side goes toward the block! Dont install it backwards.

coolant level gets checks once a week, im paranoid. i just had a road trip and i checked everything every time i gassed up.
thermostat was changed when the engine was put in in april.
