a while back i found a mustang shell in a junkyard that was a coupe with t-tops, it appeared to be either an 83 or an 84 and once had a 4cyl and a manual in it, it was stripped down to barely anything but the t-tops were still in it and there was actually a spare glass with it, it even had the original t top bags in the trunk. my question was, did they even make a coupe with t-tops? this is the only one i had ever seen and i was wondering if it was something the factory did or if it was just someone project.. any replies are cool

P.S. this was months ago and i have since stripped the car of the rest of its useful parts, cut the roof off (intending to put it on my other coupe, to make the only other t-top coupe i have seen), and taken the car back to the junkyard and it has been crushed

they did build them and they are pretty rare and fetch a pretty penny in good shape. Ive seen a couple floating around

why'd ya cut it up, rather than take the whole shell and build it? was she rotted?

yeah, it was all rotted out, everything but the interior was cut off of it, and i had another coupe that ran and drove so this wasnt really worth it

Yeah they are hard to come by, a friend of mine has one in his Mustang parts yard in phoenix, think his is an 84 or 85 didn't look that close at the nose. Said he wants to rebuild it for himself. Told him if he ever wants to sell it I want first shot at it.
