New fuel level guage

New fuel level guage
Im tired of running out of gas and to damn lazy to pull my dash apart. I have an empty spot in a 3 gauge cluster and Im thinking about putting a fuel level guage in it. Heres my question. If i run the guage straight from the sender in the tank will my level reading jump up and down from the road and driving conditions since im bipassing the anti-slosh module? Anyone else run an aftermarket fuel level? Any problems they run into?

my gauge is stuck at 3/4 tank. i ran out of gas the other night too. are you sure your problem is in the cluster or could it be sending unit? dont want to hack your post but id like to find out some more on this too.

ya know what greenstreak ive heard mixed emotions about that. some people say its a pain, and others say its no problem. then again those who said it was a pian, i have no idea how credable the are. and to answer your question. no, ive never done it.
I did some diag. from the chilton book and it told me that if the needle on the guage is in a certian possition means certian things. mine being buried above full means my anti-slot module is out... so in respond to 1sickstang, thats how i know (or think i know) its not the sender. im not sure if its possible but i think i messed it up when i dropped my steering colom.

yea that could be. if you can drop your column though you can easily get behind your cluster. ive been behind mine but it is hard to get the wires unclipped for the headlight switch. if you pivot that entire peice around just right you can pull the cluster almost completely out, its pretty simple. i think it was on by three or four screws- onein each corner.
