Default alternator not getting power to make power
i have a 86 and the igniton wire to the alternator is not getting power, it will not come on. which wire is the ignition wire and is there any way to run another wire to an ignition source. its the alternator with the two plugs. someone please help, im trying to get this thing running.

External voltage regulator? My 86 truck has an external V.R. and it's gone bad a couple of times.
