Default Oil Pressure

Hey guys I am having the strangest problem. The press ure on my car sits 25-30 PSI but when i turn the geadlights on it goes up to 50 psi, if i also turn the heater on with the headlights it goes up to about 60 psi, anybody know what would cause this. i plan ion putting a wet gauge on it tomorrow to get a accurate reading but this is strange.

A buddy of mines Prelude did that but they have electrical sensors and completly digital dash. He had either a messed up sensor or his harness was just shot. We put in a new motor with a different harness and it works just fine now.

Basicly a short.

The oil pressure in my 83 used to read in the middle of the gauge when I first got it going then one day it shot toward the A in Normal and stays in the upper half all the time. I have a Autometer gauge but I just havn't put it in b/c I don't have a place to put it right now and I don't what it just hanging there.

There is a small voltage resistor pack that plugs into the back of the cluster... These sometimes burn up and cause weird guage issues like that. I'm not saying that is the problem, but it may be worth taking a peek at it. You should be able to tell just by looking at it.
