Quick and easy to see if the leak is the heater core is to bypass it. Cost like 3 bucks and takes a few minutes, if youask the auto parts guywill probably do it for you in the parking lot. Do it, drive for a week or how ever long that you usually notice the low coolant and see if the issue is resolved.

If it is the heater core and you want to replace it then you have to remove the dash.
