3.73's......What else.... Bearings, seals etc.
Ok i picked up a set of Ford Racing 3.73 gears last nite and i need to know what else all i should plan on changing when i tear it apart. I figured i need a install kit? Its a 95 5.0 5 speed and its got 108,000 miles on it.

Any name brand kit will work. What I suggest replacing is all the bearings, clutches and steels, and all seals. Dont forget to get axle bearings and seals. These will have to be bought separately. Also make sure you get two bearings and two seals. Some kits are sold as a pair and some come in a set of the 4 pieces. Usually the 4 pieces run about $30.
Also dont forget to get 3 quarts of oil and make sure it has a limited slip additive or else you will have to get a bottle of friction modifier.

Nope. All you have to do is remove the VSS from the driver's side of the tranny (10mm bolt). Then pull the clip off the gear and slips the old one off then reverse the steps to reinstall.
