Well the dipstick doesnt go into the block. and this is what I think I could read off the block as of today. D8ve-6015-a3a 8a23 14

This 14 is printed in the valley and the side where the casting is on near where the starter bolts up.

and no 89 it says 14 and everything else is ground down with a die grinder before i got the car.

E= engine casting
6015=engine block
a3a=revised edition
8=8th year
a= 1st month (January)
23 = 23rd day
The part you are looking at is 302/5.0L engine block from a 1978 LIncoln Town Car!
Cast on January 23 1978
And that's the rest of the story.

ok but my engine guy said that its like a crazy block because of it having these big main caps that aren't stock any chance it could be a Mexican block or a sportsman block?
