I a little help from you guys that know a lot about rearends. I have a 94' 5.0 convertiable (if that matters). There is a junk yard here in my town that pretty much has any kind of Ford vehicle you can think of and they sell there stuff really cheap. He sells thewhole rearends for $55 if I remove it my self.

I was wanting to know if there was a truck or car that came stock with 3.73 or higher rearend that would pretty much bolt right in my mustang? My car has the 5 lug pattern.

some 5.0 explorers have 3.73's but for a direct swap you need a sn-95 rear

it doesnt matter... you cant just swap gears and GO.

buy a set of gears (ring and pinion) NEW, and have a shop install them

or get a rear from a 88 thunderbird supercoupe, comes with disk brakes and autos have 3.73 gears, manuals have 3.55 gears.

the rears are not direct swaps..just go buy a set of gears and have them installed in yours= less hassle
