With it not diming the lights i wouldent think it would be the post tho it makes the most sence to start there i would turn the key on put the ca in park or neutrul and try jumping the selonoind just to see what happend most likely a ground wire but if the battery had bin going down and making the starter drag its posible it could be burnt up. Good Luck

i got a test light, new positive battery terminal, still the same, i got a starter solenoid but when i put the bolt on to tigthten the wires, the copper broke, so im going to exchange it. With the test light, i put it to some of the wires from the old soleniod, and it lit up, so does that mean the soleniod is still good? Btw where can i test the starter with the light?

key held in crank position put test light on side of selonoid that has cable that goes to starter..it should light the test light up..if it does and the starter is bolted tight to bellhousing then I would assume you have a bad starter

If you cant figure it out and you go to the starter if you pull it you can take some jumper cables and test the starter.

that's what all the tests with the test light are for to verify where the 12v isn't or is going
