94 Cobra Oil Leak

94 Cobra Oil Leak
I have a 94 Cobra that continues to have a rear main seal leak? I have had it replaced twice...once in 2006 and once in 2007 when I had a clutch replaced and transmission replaced respectively. I am at my wits end on why it is still leaking but now my clutch has gone out within 40k miles and that just does not sound right? Any ideas would be great. Also if anyone is in San Diego, Ca do you know a good reasonably priced Transmission repair facility. Thanks for your help.

Are you buying a quality seal? When you install the seal be sure it is not hard. I have seen some brand new seals that are as hard as a rock. Check the seal and make sure it has a spring inside of it. When install the seal put some sealer on the bolt threads. Also you can rezize your picture on photobucket or whatever you used to upload the picture.

May not be your rear main seal.Could be an oil pan gasket blown out back there.
Or in my case i broke a flexplate at the strip which in turn chipped the rear main cap and it leaked bad until i got a new cap and had it milled to match.
Probably not your issue but i chased that oil leak for months before tearing into it to find a permanent fix as you have.pull the pan and take a look and maybe look into more of a reputable shop if both were done by the same shop.

double check your PCV valve and crank case ventilation.... excessive crank case pressure can pop rear main seals in a few thousand miles... also run a leak down test on your motor.. just because you should. then when you get around to checking your rear main again, make sure the end of the crank isnt grooved at all, otherwise it will continue to leak... forever!
