Default Need help on budget supercharged build

Well after some finacial issues and deciding to keep more motorcycles I am back to the drawing board again on a build. First things first, I am very new to the ford world. Car is 87 notchback and stock with basic mods like cold air intake, 1.7 roller rockers, spintech exhuast, headers. I am looking for over 400 hp to the wheels for a street car. Most likely wont be a daily driver but will be driven frequently with trips to the track. I am wondering what you guys suggest on a set up. Engine wise I am thinking keeping stock bore would be cheapest right now, but am thinking a low compression forged 347 would be just as expensive as making the stock engine boost ready. If someone thinks other wise or has suggestions please chime in. I am definatly going to go supercharged and want to run over 10 psi. Think of going with a procharger or votech. Now for heads and cam combo. What suggestions do you guys have. I cant go out and blow a crazy amount on heads and cam, but I definatly want something good that I can get ported and etc to suport the power I want and work with the cam. Can some give me some set ups that will get me the power I want that maybe I dont have to get worked? I have always been a huge fan of custom cams, but if its not needed I will take it into consideration.

Now for tranny and suspension. For suspension I will most likely go with a k member kit that comes with everything. Great semi cheap upgrade for a little over 1k. As far as rear end I was thinking of a eaton 8.8 with 4.11's and a eibach launch kit. Also, I have a stock 5 speed and would like to rebuild it to suport the power, unless you guys believe it will handle the power. What is a good rebuild kit for the tranny?

A mild 302 will make some nice power. Scrounge the junk yard for some GT-40 heads or search for any used aluminium heads, as they will dissipate heat much more effectively than iron heads. This will help to fend off knock and pinging due to the supercharger. A Cobra intake manifold or Holley Systemax and TrickFlow Stg-1 cam should round out the H/C/I. A Trickflow-Stg2 cam is ideal for blowers; something to consider. If you are speed density, now would be a perfect time to upgrade to MAF. As for the SC, go to Corral.net to find some used Vortech's. You can find some killer deals. Compliment the charger with a 2.95 supercharger pulley and UPR powerpipe and 12-14lbs of boost is the norm. You will also need 42lb injectors, 255lph fuel pump and a tune. Unfortunately, all this speed will not come incredibly cheap. But in the end, 450rwhp(with equal torque) is easily attainable.

you should look at the paxton novi 2000! i just got one (not done with the install yet) but the thing is supposed to make decent power on a stock 302, and is even better once you build your engine, capable of supporting around 900hp!

+1 stock block (use yours) some used aluminum heads...second hand Vortech kit...decent cam, exhaust. You'll reach your goal....

What is a good tranny kit I can get for my 5 speed? Guess maybe a few example set ups would be nice to see also.

http://www.gforcetransmissions.com/
http://www.astroperformance.com/

these 2 places make some high quality transmission components, But if you have the money a TKO 600, or 500 would also be a good upgrade and you wouldnt have to worry about rebuilding your old transmission.

Anything else you need help with figuring out?
