i have a question about my notch! ok it's an '86 with a v6 i'm gonna do a 5.0 swap with a carb, the question is what stock distributor would i have to use? since the distributor on the engine is for an '85, but the connection on my car is different. can i just swap to a newer distributor or i wont be able to use it?

...Sounds like you need the wiring harness from an '85 GT. You will also need to swap out the K member to a 5.0 as well.... Should be able to get this stuff in a junk yard.

Just buy a ready to run distributor like MSD, Mallory, Petronix, Summit. If you are close to Myrtle Beach SC I have a K Member you can have that came out from under my 85 Notch, Still has the PS rack, steering shaft and pump hooked to it. Just come and get it.

ok well i have an '84 gt donor sitting so can i use all the stuff out of that car? the k member and harness? or would i be better off with a msd? and how much i'm i looking at for the msd setup?

ok i have another question? now the harness out of the '84 is it hard to convert the harness to my 86?
